Terms of Service

Welcome to Tatamino. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of tataminoworld.com (the "Site") and any products you purchase from us. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

Who We Are

Tatamino is a small workshop in Kumamoto, Japan, operated by Tetsuya Kawanabe, a fourth-generation tatami artisan.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to place an order.

Orders & Prices

All prices are shown in US dollars unless otherwise noted. Prices, availability, and product descriptions may change at any time without notice. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including orders that appear fraudulent or that we're unable to fulfill. In the rare case we cancel your order, we will refund any payment in full.

Payment

Payment is collected at checkout via Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Payment details are handled by the payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.

Shipping & Risk of Loss

Pieces ship from Kumamoto, Japan. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. See our Shipping Policy for transit times and carriers.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — photographs, text, designs, the Tatamino name and logo — is the property of Tatamino and protected by Japanese and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, republish, or use our content without written permission. Personal, non-commercial use of photos for reference is fine; please credit @tatamino when sharing.

User Content

If you send us photos, reviews, or messages, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for marketing and customer service. You retain ownership.

Prohibited Use

You may not use the Site to violate any law, infringe others' rights, transmit malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape content, or interfere with Site operation.

Disclaimers

The Site and products are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tatamino is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kumamoto District Court, Japan, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country require otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
